Hello there, and thank you for joining me on this exciting new journey! I'm Gabrielle B. Mills, and I'm thrilled to launch The Church Consultant, a place where my passion for the Lord, His Church, and effective church administration all come together.
For over 15 years, I've been immersed in the world of church leadership and organization, and I can't wait to share everything I've learned with you. You see, I absolutely love exploring the intricacies of church administration, from small group dynamics to organizational structures and succession planning. It's a lesser-known fact about me, but in my spare time (if I ever have any), you'll often find me engrossed in books about church management and design.
A little about me
At my core, I'm an educator with a deep love for learning and sharing knowledge. My journey began at Cornell University, where I earned two Bachelor's degrees and minored in Education, graduating Cum Laude. During my time there, I published my first work. Following that, I pursued my passion for nonprofit management by obtaining a Master's in Business Administration with a concentration in Non-Profit Management from Regent University.
My faith has always been central to my life, and I'm honored to be a licensed and ordained Christian Minister. This calling, combined with my educational background, led me to work in executive leadership within the church setting for over 15 years. It's been an incredible journey of growth, learning, and service.
Recognizing the need for specialized support in the church and nonprofit sector, I founded Jay & Elle Firm. Our mission is to help churches and nonprofits fulfill their vision through organized financial affairs (Bookkeeping), CFO Services, and personal financial stewardship (Coaching). It's my way of combining my business acumen with my passion for ministry.
Beyond my professional life, I wear many hats. I serve on a nonprofit board, volunteer in the local community, and run a personal blog called "SimplyGab" (Learn More), but above all, I'm a wife and mother. While I'm proud of my professional accomplishments, I consider my most important and cherished role to be that of a wife and mother. These roles ground me, inspire me, and remind me daily of what truly matters in life.
Why Did I Create The Church Consultant?
You might be wondering, "Gabrielle, what inspired you to create The Church Consultant?" Well, let me share my heart with you on this.
The Church Consultant, particularly our YouTube channel, was born out of a deep-seated desire to help churches and nonprofits achieve their goals. Throughout my years in ministry and consulting, I've witnessed countless organizations spinning their wheels, falling into the same pitfalls that others have faced before them. It broke my heart to see passionate leaders struggle with issues that could have been avoided with the proper knowledge and guidance.
That's when I realized: what if I could create a platform where we share best practices, practical tips, and solid advice? What if we could prevent other church leaders and administrators from making the same mistakes we did?
You see, I believe in the power of shared knowledge and experiences. By telling our church stories - the triumphs and the challenges - we can help others navigate their own journeys more effectively. It's about learning from each other, growing together, and ultimately, serving God's kingdom more efficiently.
But The Church Consultant is more than just a knowledge-sharing platform. I envisioned it as a safe space for all of us - pastors, administrators, volunteers, and anyone passionate about church organization - to explore and discuss church administrative concepts openly and honestly. It's a place where we can dive into topics that might seem dry on the surface (like organizational charts or succession planning) but are crucial for the health and growth of our churches and nonprofits.
My hope is that through The Church Consultant, we can collectively elevate the administrative aspect of ministry. By doing so, we free up more time and resources for what really matters - spreading the Gospel and serving our communities.
So, whether you're here to learn, to share, or simply to explore, know that you're welcome. Together, we can propel our churches and nonprofits forward, making them more effective tools in God's hands.
